If a collection has not been made, please wait 24 hours before contacting us. The contractor may have had a problem (mechanical breakdown, delay at the sorting center, etc.) that prevented him from completing his route. Generally, he will come back the next day to collect the addresses he was unable to complete.
If the problem persists, please contact us via our request system for better follow-up.
The blue bin is the property of Éco-Entreprise Québec. All requests for delivery, repair or replacement of recycling bins are handled by Éco-Entreprise Québec.
* If your bin has been damaged by the recyclables collector, please indicate this in the comment section of your request.
If you're moving, leave the bin in place for the next occupant.
The brown bin is the property of the Municipality. The municipality manages all requests for delivery, repair or replacement of recycling bins. To request service, send us a request. If you're moving, leave the bin in place for the next occupant.
The bin belongs to you. It's your responsibility to buy, repair or replace it. If you're moving, you can take your bin with you.
If you find little white worms in your brown bin, it's because a fly has managed to lay eggs in the meat. Spray with salt or vinegar to kill them.
Not sure how to dispose of an item? Consult the ABC des Bacs or download the Ça va où? application.
Since January 1, 2025, selective collection has been operated province-wide by Éco-Entreprise Québec through its Bac Impact initiative, which means a change in what goes in the blue bin.
To find out what goes in the blue bin, there are three words to remember: Containers, Packaging, Printed matter.
Consult the Bac Impact checklist
There are many drop-off points in the region for the recovery of various items, such as ink cartridges, batteries, light bulbs, bread clips and eyeglasses.
For a list of drop-off points in the region, consult the MRC directory.
Special residual materials (those you can't put in your bins for collection) can be recovered at two locations: the Magog Ecocentre and the annual Bolton-Est mobile ecocentres.
Bolton-Est residents have had access to the Magog ecocenter since January 2024.
And as of January 1, 2025, you no longer need an access card to use the Magog ecocenter. All you need is photo ID and proof of residence showing your address in East Bolton (driver's license, tax bill, etc.).
Visit their website for schedules, contact information and materials accepted. Please note that certain items and materials are subject to a fee.
Every spring, on Patriotes Day weekend, the CCE (Comité consultatif en environnement) organizes a mobile ecocenter at Terrio Park.
In addition to containers to collect your special residual materials*, other services are offered on this day:
The next mobile ecocenter will be held in 2026.
*Materials not accepted: HHW (household hazardous waste), waste and recycling included in weekly collections, contaminated soil, asbestos, medicines.
As a result of an intermunicipal agreement, Bolton-Est residents can now deposit their glass bottles and containers in the Eastman container dedicated exclusively to glass recycling.
450, rue Principale, Eastman (adjacent to the Appalachian Corridor premises)
This container allows for better recycling of glass, as it is not contaminated by other materials. As the material obtained is “purer”, it becomes more interesting for recycling companies. This type of glass can be used to make new bottles, containers, insulation products, abrasives, concrete, etc.
Household bulky items or residual materials that are too bulky in size, shape or weight (stove, washer, dryer, hot water tank, mattress, couch or box spring, etc.) can be brought to the Magog ecocenter at any time during their opening hours.
If you prefer home collection of your bulky items, you can make an appointment with the Ressourcerie des Frontières, a local organization that gives a second life to nearly 95% of the materials it collects.
To make an appointment :
The municipality of Bolton-Est offers a subsidy covering 50% of the cost of purchasing a domestic composter or biodigester, up to a maximum of $60.
This assistance is available to homeowners and permanent tenants, with one subsidy per residence every five years.
This is an interesting alternative or complement to the brown bin.
