The Municipality of Bolton-Est has implemented a new mass alert system. This system will allow the Municipality to quickly disseminate important information to citizens, such as postponed collections or planned roadworks, as well as alerts in case of emergencies.
You can receive these alerts via email, SMS, or automated phone call.

The police service in Bolton-Est is provided by the Sûreté du Québec.
The fire protection service is provided by the municipalities of Eastman and Austin. First responder services are also handled by the Austin firefighters.

The SPA de l’Estrie has been mandated by the Municipality to ensure compliance with municipal regulations regarding animals and to be present for citizens, whether they own pets or not.

For any emergency outside SPA's opening hours, you can contact the police service, which will communicate with the organization's officials upon receiving your call.
According to municipal regulations, each citizen is responsible for registering their dogs and cats with the SPA de l’Estrie. You must also cover the annual costs of your pet's license.
Additionally, since March 3, 2020, the registration of all dogs in Quebec is mandatory under the Regulation for the Application of the Dog Control Act.

The Municipality of Bolton-Est has entered into service agreements with the municipalities of Austin and Eastman to ensure fire risk coverage throughout its territory. This complies with the Fire risk coverage plan of the MRC de Memphrémagog.

Excerpts from the regulation on open fires:
- Except for barbecue cooking, it is strictly forbidden to light, have someone light, or allow an open-air fire to be lit without first obtaining a permit from the competent authority.
- Failure to comply with this regulation is punishable by a fine of $250 to $1,000.
- You must provide your name and the exact address of the location where you wish to light an open fire.
Important to know: this permit, which is free, will be granted or denied by a recorded message on the voicemail by the competent authority, depending on the weather conditions of the day. The recording of the request is made to protect the caller and the competent authorities responsible for enforcing the regulation.
Before lighting an outdoor fire, it is also recommended to consult the SOPFEU website to know the fire danger index and the restrictions in effect in the region.
Despite its somewhat contradictory name, this type of hydrant consists of a permanently installed empty pipe that allows firefighters to siphon water from a basin. Firefighters thus have access to a water source at all times.
Of course, not every pond can accommodate this type of system. The installation requires that the water source be able to provide an uninterrupted pumping flow of 250 gallons per minute for about two hours.
