Road maintenance
Regular maintenance work is carried out on the municipal network every year.
In spring, shortly after the thaw period, the roads department levels all municipal gravel roads, sweeps asphalt roads and spreads dust suppressant on major gravel arteries.
Roads are re-graded on a regular basis, depending on traffic intensity and road surface degradation. Gravel is reloaded where necessary.
In summer and autumn, in addition to minor repair work, the roads department carries out the necessary work to keep ditches flowing smoothly, and clears undergrowth from roads when required to maintain visibility and keep back overgrown vegetation.
In winter, the department clears snow and sprays abrasives, as required, to ensure safe transport throughout the municipal network.
