The Holland Store located at the Bolton Center junction. The initial one-floor house was built in 1860 by John Blaisdell who opened a general store. The second owner was J. Nicholas Holland who married the widow Blaisdell, who managed the first Bolton Centre Post Office from 1867 to 1874.

This General Store was important for the community, who were able to purchase not only food, but also farm equipment, seeds, grain and kerosene. It is said that Nicholas “Nick” Holland allowed the citizens to pay their purchases in exchange for a live animal. Mr. Holland also kept the School Board records.

The following owners were Mrs. Holland and her daughter Lily Blaisdell. The latter married J.H. Peasley and they continued to run the store. The next owner was Mary Paige from 1940 to 1961, then purchased by Russell and Phyllis (Bracey) Marsh.

Mrs. Marsh was the postmistress as well as shopkeeper with her husband and served lunch on the premises. In 1967, a back room upstairs became the office for The/ Le Centennial newspaper founded by Russell Marsh and Milton Perry, in 1968 it became the Centennial Advertiser.

The house was moved in 1974, where the owners managed a nursing home from 1977 to 1989.
