One of the oldest houses in South Bolton built in 1883-84 by John McMannis.
The original one-storey house comprised a dining room and a large kitchen.
In 1903-1904, a second storey was built with 6 bedrooms and a dance hall.
One of his daughters married Wilkie Fuller, and they began operating the place as a summer boarding house. Miss Mary Selby owned it for many years and ran it as a boarding house. Mr. George Klywak owned the property around 1990.

The McMannis house was purchased in 2000 by Marthe and Joris Beirnaert and was converted into a Bed and Breakfast named La Tanière.
