Our Council Meetings and Commitees

March 2006

Nomination:

Mr. Pierre Gagné was hired as building inspector/assistant secretary-treasurer. He starts work on March 13, 2006.

Committees

Administration:

This last month the committee has been concentrating its efforts on filling the posts of director general/secretary-treasurer and building inspector/assistant secretary-treasurer.

Environment:
Mrs. Jane Wardle joins Mr. Viateur Audet as citizen representatives on this committee.
The 24th February, Mr. Audet and the Mayor participated in a meeting in South-Stukely of representatives from the 6 municipalities on the west side of the MRC (the West Sector) to study the possibility of creating an Eco-centre to serve these municipalities. Mr. Audet will represent the municipality in this dossier, looking at the financing, location and accessibility of the future centre.

Infrastructures:

Following a petition from citizens of Mine Road, the committee has been working mainly on the municipalisation of private roads, resulting in a draft by-law which will eventually be presented to council for adoption.

The goal of the by-law will be to structure these kinds of requests and to provide criteria for better decision making.

Mayor’s Report and Correspondence
