Our Council Meetings and Commitees

July Council Meeting 2006

Commitees

HERITAGE, CULTURE AND RECREATION
The committee held two meetings in June.  Effective communications with the citizens who have expressed an interest in the committee was determined to be a priority.  The idea of creating a data base of email addresses was put forth.  Upon request by the citizens, information could be easily communicated using this list without significant increase in the members’ workload.

ENVIRONMENT
On June 8th 2006, an important meeting was held between the various players involved in seeking a solution to the problems resulting from the operation of gravel pits within the urban perimeter (see résumé added to the June meeting highlights).  A draft agreement will be prepared by the committee and submitted to the parties for approval.

INFRASTRUCTURES
A formal request for the municipalization of a section of Mine road was submitted to Council by the owner. The Infrastructure committee will study the dossier at its July 5th meeting and make a recommendation to Council.
