PRINCIPAL RESOLUTIONS
The council renewed the culture and education program, which reimburses half of the fees citizens pay when they register for activities that are not offered on municipal territory.
Tax bills will be mailed on February 1st, 2008. The first instalment is due on March 1st, the second is due June 1st, and the third is due September 8th, 2008.
The council agreed to extend the agreement to provide adapted transportation service to persons coming from within the municipality, and to the service outlets located outside its territory.
QUESTIONS
One citizen again offered suggestions on ways to dispose of recyclable materials; one citizen is concerned about the accumulation of ice on the roof of the Town Hall, which he feels is a risk to citizens. The council took note of their concerns. One citizen brought up the issue of the high-speed internet, which is not available on municipal territory. The mayor remarked that, so far, service providers have tried to charge the municipality for the cost of installing the service. The council is not in favour of the municipality subsidizing the installation of the service, since it is a matter between a private company and its customers.
| The next sitting of council will be at the Townhall in Bolton Centre on Monday February 4th, 2008 (exceptionnally) starting at 7PM. |
